      [Amsterdam, Netherlands, 2026 June 17]

SUSTAERO,a pioneer in Canadian sustainable aviation fuel, today announced a strategiclicensing agreement with Nextchem, the sustainable technology solutionsbusiness unit of MAIRE (MAIRE.MI), through its subsidiary MyRechemical.SUSTAERO is integrating Nextchem’s proprietary NX Circular™ gasificationtechnology, which has achieved Technology ReadinessLevel 9 (TRL-9), the highest possible commercial rating, into the biomass-to-syngas section of its proprietaryproduction process.

Thelandmark partnership was announced live today at the Sustainable AviationFutures 2026 SAF European Congress in Amsterdam, where both companies arepresenting today., Nextchem publicly unveiled the partnership during its Congresspresentation, “Scaling SAF Beyond 2030,” highlighting the internationalscalability of feedstock-resilient supply streams. Concurrently, SUSTAERO CEOKeith Gillard is addressing the Congress on Canada's distinct structuraladvantages in pioneering world-scale SAF and eSAF production from abundantwoody biomass and renewable electricity.

Theintegration represents a critical technical milestone for SUSTAERO as itadvances its mission to build Canada's wood waste-to-SAF production capacity.Nextchem’s NX Circular™ process will cover the high-temperature gasificationand purification of industrial sawmill residues, primarily chips, shavings, andbark, alongside unmanaged forest biomass into clean, chemical-grade syntheticgas (syngas). This purified syngas will then serve as the clean foundationalbuilding block for subsequent conversion into low-carbon jet fuel utilizingSUSTAERO’s proprietary SOAR™ process.

Setto begin commercial operations by 2030, SUSTAERO’s initial plant is engineeredto produce 144,000 tonnes of SAF annually from residual woody biomass, witharchitecture and local feedstocks enabling it to expand up to four times itsinitial capacity. By utilizing mill and forestry residuals, the projectdirectly addresses a dual environmental challenge: Reducing life-cycle aviationemissions by over 90%, while mitigating the escalating risk of devastatingwildfires in Canadian forests.

"Weare thrilled to be working with Nextchem to convert Canada's abundant woodwaste into SAF and eSAF,” said Keith Gillard, CEO of SUSTAERO. “We evaluatedall technologies and nothing compares to the performance of the NX Circular forprocessing biomass into the cleanest syngas. Sharing this milestone today inAmsterdam alongside Nextchem highlights the global demand for high-integrity, highlysecure, ultra-low-carbon fuels."

FabioFritelli, Managing Director of Nextchem, added: “This agreement confirms themarket interest in our proprietary gasification solutions for advanced andversatile waste-to-value applications from multiple feedstocks. By enabling theproduction of purified syngas for SAF, we are supporting the development of aninnovative pathway that combines circularity with decarbonization objectives.”
