      [Washington, D.C., 2025 November 19]

SUSTAERO Chief Executive Officer Keith Gillard used the international stage of the Alternative Fuels and Chemicals Coalition (AFCC) 5th Annual Global Biobased Economy Conference & Exhibit this week to officially announce the name of the company’s proprietary technology platform: SOAR™ (Syngas Optimisation for Aviation Renewables).

As the only representative from a Canadian Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) startup invited to speak at the conference, Gillard’s presentation on November 18 served as the global debut for the SOAR™ brand. He detailed how the platform achieves industry-leading carbon conversion rates by utilising forestry residuals, a feedstock that avoids the ethical and logistical complications of food-based biofuels, combined with renewable green hydrogen.

"The unveiling of SOAR™ represents the successful integration of our core engineering and strategic milestones," says Gillard. "By officially naming our process, we are signaling to the market that our technology is no longer in the conceptual phase; it is a mature, branded, and bankable industrial solution. The acronym “Syngas Optimisation for Aviation Renewables” perfectly captures the technical rigour of our Power-and-Biomass-to-Liquid approach."

The AFCC conference is a primary venue for discussions on federal regulatory policy and the financing of industrial projects. Gillard’s participation, and the branding of the SOAR™ process, underscore SUSTAERO’s commitment to shaping the North American policy landscape for SAF.

"The conversations in Washington this week confirmed that the market is hungry for proven solutions that can scale today," added Gillard. "Representing the Canadian SAF sector at the AFCC allowed us to demonstrate how SUSTAERO’s SOAR™ process can serve as a template for secure, border-free energy across the continent. There is a clear appetite for the kind of supply chain sovereignty that SUSTAERO provides."
